Programs and Services
DIAL/SELF Youth Services include:
- TeenLine reaches out to at-risk youth to prevent homelessness and sexual exploitation of teens. Youth, parents, guidance counselors, and other helping professionals can call or stop by for resource information, referrals, counseling, case management, advocacy, and emergency shelter.
- Safe Place connects youth with immediate help and safety twenty-four hours a day through seven community sites.
- Transitional Housing provides older foster care youth and homeless teens a safe place to live, social service support, life skills training, and a weekly living allowance as they make the transition to independent living.
- DIAL/SELF - North Quabbin is a satellite office for the agency that serves the North Worcester and Franklin County communities that comprise the North Quabbin region. It operates TeenLine in this area.
- TeenHousing is the only developer in Western Massachusetts of affordable housing specifically for teens and young adults. These supported housing projects include an array of social services, life skills education, case management, and community service responsibilities for the residents.
- LGBTQ Housing First connects LGBTQ homeless youth with a variety of housing
options.
DIAL/SELF Community Service Partnerships include:
- ACT Volunteer Center is a full service volunteer center serving the entire Franklin-Hampshire-North Quabbin region. ACT coordinates Make A Difference Day each year and manages the Volunteer Coordinators Network of the Pioneer Valley.
- AmeriCorps coordinates the services of 19 full-time AmeriCorps members to enhance the efforts of other youth serving agencies in the Franklin/Hampshire/Hampden/North Quabbin area.
- The Youth Services Roundtable (YSR) is an unincorporated association of Franklin County/North Quabbin youth service agencies and professionals. It maintains a listserv (youthserv@communityaction.us) that has greatly enhanced communication and cooperation among youth serving agencies.
