The passing of our beloved board member, Shirley Hebert, in 2012 led to the creation of The Shirley Hebert Strength through Adversity Scholarship Fund. The fund rewards high school seniors in the North Quabbin region who have experienced academic success, personal growth, and completed community service in the face of adversity. Scholarship awards are based on the following criteria:
A high school senior residing within the nine-town North Quabbin region who has experienced academic success, personal growth, and has completed community service in the face of adversity. This student will be graduating despite having struggled with a health condition or disability that may have created obstacles to their success. The scholarship will be paid at the end of the student’s first semester upon submission of proof of completion. Applications are available at local school guidance offices and by calling the Coalition office at 978-249-3703.
Donations are being accepted for this scholarship and the amount of the student award will be dependent on the funds raised.
