Learn to Cope

Learn to Cope
Description

Learn to Cope is a non-profit support network that offers education, resources, peer support and hope for parents and family members coping with a loved one addicted to opiates or other drugs. Founded by Joanne Peterson in 2004, the organization has grown to include over 10,000 members, and has become a nationally recognized model for peer support and prevention programming.

Meetings

Every chapter of Learn to Cope holds weekly meetings run by experienced facilitators who have been there. These meetings offer support, education, resources, and most importantly HOPE for recovery. Most meetings begin at 7:00pm and are held weekly. See the calendar at https://www.learn2cope.org/meetings/ for most specific information.  Times and locations are subject to change. Meetings will not be held on major holidays. If you have any questions or are looking to check the status of a meeting please contact us through the site or call us at 508-738-5148. Meetings in Gardner (call 508-404-6699 for place) and Greenfield (call 508-404-3539 for place) are held on Tuesdays.

Expectations

Many people have mistaken beliefs about drug addiction and recovery. Two of the most pervasive myths are that a person can get off drugs alone and that most addicts can become permanently drug-free.

Forum

We host an online support forum for families, friends, and loved ones who are dealing with someone in their lives who is struggling with addiction. The forum requires registration and is moderated.
